I believe in listening first and tailoring care to each patient’s needs. My role is to guide with clarity, ensuring that each step of the process is explained and every decision reflects both sound medical evidence and the unique priorities of the individual.
As a shoulder and elbow surgeon, I am committed to providing treatment that is both safe and effective, whether that involves non-surgical options, advanced surgical techniques, or a combination of both. My focus is always on helping people return to what they need and love to do, whether that’s enjoying daily activities free of pain, competing in sports, or simply moving with confidence again.

Background, Education and Training
C. Lucas Myerson, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the comprehensive care of shoulder and elbow disorders, including complex shoulder instability, rotator cuff pathology, and arthritis. He has advanced training in both sports medicine and shoulder and elbow surgery, equipping him to provide both operative and non-operative management tailored to each patient's needs.

Dr. Myerson received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award. Dr. Myerson completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania, serving as Academic Chief Resident and receiving the DeForest P. Willard Award for Outstanding Senior Resident. He went on to complete his fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital with some of the top shoulder and elbow surgeons in New York City and the country.

Throughout his training, Dr. Myerson has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic medicine. He has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and presented his research at national conferences. His research interests include optimizing outcomes in rotator cuff repair, biologic augmentation in tendon healing, and strategies for managing complex shoulder instability.

Dr. Myerson is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He continues to collaborate on research and educational initiatives to advance the field of shoulder and elbow surgery.
